Back from PRINCE2

I've arrived back from the perils of the PRINCE2 certification course and as would be expected, am ready to make sweeping changes! In all honesty, the course was enjoyable and very useful and I'm confident that applying the PRINCE2 Project Management methodology to Blue Hat projects will be incredibly useful, but will need to be very careful about how we use it and minimising any disruption in adopting it!

Before this however we have the exciting prospect of sites to launch over the coming weeks for the UEA Students Union Box Office, Mr Shoes, Sonkai Jewellers and Cambridge University Research Services.

With the launch of asp.net 3.5 and the imminent launch of Silverlight 1.1, there is no doubt that this will be a very interesting few months!

.Net & PRINCE2

I'm away on a PRINCE2 course all week hosted just outside Ipswich (by AFA) it's a really nice setup - a group of 12 candidates in total including public sector (County Council & NHS) and private sector as well as self funded individuals.

PRINCE2 is a Project Management methodology. It's very flexible and is something that we are looking to implement across our future projects.

With our move towards focusing on .NET development (as opposed to general web development) and the likelihood that this will lead to more complex and more critical projects, having something tried and tested in place such like this will be invaluable.

It's all change as the new year kicks in

An exciting year ahead just got even more interesting, from our point of view at least.
After some investigation, thinking, planning and well, a fair amount of talking, Blue Hat is to concentrate purely on what it does best. We are expert programmers and although we are very interested in everything that is going on with the internet, what we are all most interested in, is developing! Programming on the .NET framework and creating accessible, search engine friendly websites.
So, with that in mind, we have planned our adoption of ASP.NET 3.5, MS Silverlight 1.1 ensuring that we are right on the leading edge of the web technologies and delivering clients with the very, very best of programming capabilities.
