Support me and the air ambulance

I'm just back from a short 5 mile run this evening as my preparations for the Norwich Half Marathon draw towards a close.

I'm really looking forward to the event (not for the pain, wind or rain) but hopefully for a sense of achievement in getting around (I hope) and also, importantly in raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

So, if you would support me and this charity (which is voulenteer based and provides an incredible service to our region) please just follow the link below:

The best .NET Developer in Norwich?

We want the best web developers in Norwich working at our studio.

In return for being ambitious, hard working and skilled, we'll ensure you love your work!

So what are we looking for? Well, we've got a couple of posts advertised at the moment on the website, but even if you don't exactly match those requirements, get in touch anyway. You'll still need to be intellegent, motivated and fun, but whether you have just graduated, or you've been building web apps for over ten years, we want to hear from you.

We develop almost all of our applications on ASP.NET, with an SQL Server in behind in. Everything is XHTML/CSS orientated on the front end.

So, if you want to work in a company that values your skills and your development, and rewards achievement and success, you really should get in touch with us!!

Cambridge Research Horizons Award

IMA
We heard today that we've been awarded an Interactive Media Outstanding Achievement Award.

We're very proud of the project (Cambridge University Research Horizons) and really delighted that the work has been recognised as being of such a high standard. We set out to deliver excellence in every project we undertake. We also need to thank our good friend's at The Click Design (who provided the graphic design) and Louise Walsh at Cambridge University!

Great local news

I couldn't have been more happy to read the front of this morning's EDP whilst waiting to leave my car for a potentially expensive service at the main dealers!

The EDP reported the announcement that the A11 (the only way to get from Norwich to Cambridge, London etc) will be dualled. Many readers outside of Norfolk will have no idea how big a deal this is to us (unless you've made the effort to visit us) but it really is (a big deal).

The roads have been holding back industry in the region for decades with every single route in and out of Norfolk suffering from major, single lane bottle-necks.

Roll on 2012 when our new road will open!

Web development world remains buoyant in apparently troubled times

Whilst many industries may be suffering from a significant downturn in trade, it's amazing to say we're actually witnessing the complete reverse. Whether this is the case across the entire web world (wide), I don't know, but there doesn't seem to be anyone that's suffering (at least not anyone that's any good).

It seems as though the talk of a recession sets companies in two distinct sets:
Type 1: those that batten down the hatches and hope to ride it out; and
Type 2: the other set that see it as an opportunity - an opportunity to gain an advantage over those less brave (type 1).

But what's more, people see the web as being a major opportunity to spend their money more wisely. Not only can well build web applications save you money (because they can save you time), the right online strategy can help your business to profit from even the most recessive of economies.

It seems marketing budgets are being focused on the digital world - something I've long been an advocate of!
